N27 Serum-Free Supplement (50x) is supplied in a 50-fold concentrated form; adding just 1/50 of the volume to
the culture medium achieves the final concentration. This highly concentrated formulation makes the N-27
serum-free supplement convenient to use, reduces storage space and shipping costs, and ensures consistency with
every use.
It contains a mixture of antioxidants to reduce damage from reactive oxygen species. Suitable for the culture of
neural progenitor cells and stem cells, it prevents stem cells from differentiating into neurons. (It does not
contain retinoic acid acetate, whereas retinoic acid acetate in the standard N-27 supplement can be used as a
substitute for retinoic acid to stimulate the differentiation of neural progenitor cells/stem cells (NSCs).)
